Commercial Website Portfolio
GigaTrust (
visit website)
The Problem: The client's website was not performing well with Search Engine Optimization (SEO). They decided to improve their strategy for SEO as well as make minor changes in the structure of the site to make it easier for visitors to view and understand.
The Solution: Applied Tactics worked with Cynthia Jennings of The Black Bear Group to update the current layout and text of the existing website, ensuring that critical search parameters are considered in the deployment. We also made several design changes to improve visitor accessibility to important information.
The Outcome: Google's crawlers hit the new website within 24 hours of it going live. After one review, GigaTrust became the first company listed in the organic results and the site was scoring higher than 80% of all sites ranked for marketing effectiveness.
NextGen (

The Problem: The client's site was out-dated. The site colors lacked vibrance. The site navigation was overpowering the top menu.
The Solution: Applied Tactics completely redesigned the website. We added bolder colors and made the website easier to navigate. The overall look and feel is more intrigueing for visitors. The information is easier to read and understand.
The Outcome: The complete website is more eye-catching, more intuitive and is better poised to assist the client in communicating about and selling his products. The client is interested in adding our Content Management System to maintain site itnegrity over time.
Kingstowne Center Sales (

The Problem: The current broker's website was not generating leads for their realtors.
The Solution: Applied Tactics did a complete redesign of the broker website. In addition to a redesign, a property listing management tool, online calendar, agent search, MRIS bridge, and online lead tracking capability (all developed by Applied Tactics) where integrated into the website.
The Outcome: The brokerage website has received more traffic and leads then the old website ever did. The cost of deployment could be covered by one Internet based sales lead which the website could capture.
Intruder Association (

The Problem: The association was losing members monthly.
The Solution: Applied Tactics did a complete redesign of their association's website. In addition to a redesign, a membership management system was deployed. This system enabled the association webmaster to manage all their member's accounts. Plus the membership management system allowed for members to pay their yearly dues, signup automatically, share photos among it's members, have public and private calendars, and send out newsletters.
The Outcome: The association stopped loosing membership and had a 33% increase in membership the first year the new website was deployed.
Melvin Taylor (

The Problem: World renowned blues legend Melvin Taylor needed a website to display upcoming events.
The Solution: Applied Tactics meet onsite with a representative of the Melvin Taylor's band and came up with a needs analysis. At that point, Applied Tactics developed a new website to assist in promotion of upcoming events. Applied Tactics designed a custom flash move and deployed a booking request module. The website also has imbedded videos of past performances of Melvin Taylor.
The Outcome: Melvin Taylor now has a professional venue for soliciting booking requests and keeping in touch with his fan base.
Government Website Portfolio
Health and Human Services (HHS) / Administration for Children & Family (

The Problem: The Compassion Capital Fund website needed 508 compliant monthly updates and redesign.
The Solution: Applied Tactics has been maintaining this public website for HHS since 2004. Updates have included but not limited to text, CSS, PDF's and multi-media. All updates have been 508 compliant. All updates are done securely through HHS's Documentum program. Applied Tactics also delivers monthly web statistics reports to the contract prime.
The Outcome: With the support of Applied Tactics, the contract prime can focus on the main deliverables of the contract without worrying about this aspect of the contract.
HHS / Administration for Children & Family Private Site
The Problem: Our client was looking for a more cost efficient and responsive company to support the Compassion Capital Fund (HHS) private website.
The Solution: Applied Tactics was asked to support hosting, development and maintenance of Compassion Capital Fund (HHS) private website from 2003 to 2007. Applied Tactics first re-developed this private website using Microsoft technologies. After the re-development of the complete website, Applied Tactics was able to move the website to a less costly hosting solution. This move saved our client over $13,000+ per year in hosting fees. Applied Tactics continue to support the private website (text, images, PDF's multi-media updates) while keeping everything 508 compliant. New development included but not limited to an Article Library System, Site Statistics, Dynamic Helpful Link module, online Calendar, and user based Article Rating system.
The Outcome: The success and popularity of this private website helped our contract prime re-win this contract. In addition to the successful win by our contract prime additional money was set aside for continued growth of the private site.
Loudoun Valley - Loudoun County Virginia (
visit website)
The Problem: A new website for the Loudoun County Economic Office was needed to assist in promoting all the wineries and farms Loudoun County has to offer.
The Solution: Applied Tactics meet onsite at the county official multiple times to gather a needs analysis from county officials. Applied Tactics then delivered multiple design layouts for the county officials to review. Applied Tactics then created the website from the agreed upon design layouts. The website was then integrated into a content management system (CMS) so that county employees could update the website themselves.
The Outcome: This website has been a very successful tool for the Loudoun County Economic office. The website is updated almost weekly and a number of the Loudoun County Wineries and Farms receive visitors to their businesses thanks to this website.
